ABOUT

Navin Ramani Design is a boutique residential interior design studio based in Vancouver BC, founded by the award winning author of coffee table book Bombay Art Deco Architecture.

As the Studio’s principal designer, I help Vancouver property investors that need a new space designed professionally; either for their primary residence or a second home leased for corporate income.  In a world of overwhelming choices I help simplify your design making decisions, focusing on options ideal for your space. The whole process is enjoyable, transparent and with fixed fees.

I can help you conceptualize and design spaces inspired by modern aesthetics of Art Deco, Mid-Century Style or the understated elegance of Minimalism. Together we can create a beautiful concept that fits nicely with your taste and budget. You are invited to view my recent project gallery HERE.

Registered as a Trade Designer in Vancouver with over 20 showrooms and having extensive access to furniture, design materials and contractors - I offer endless possibilities to help you create a well designed space.

Formerly, an Interior Designer at EQ3 in Toronto and Vancouver (Canada’s leading modern design house with over 15 showrooms across Canada and USA), I take pride in building positive client relationships earned on trust and a respect for their individual style.

I would love to learn more about what inspires you in design!  Contact me so we can schedule an informal meeting and begin to explore the possibilities for your space!

MY PHILOSOPHY FOR GIVING BACK

Life has no meaning unless there is meaning to life

My love for designing interiors combined with a desire to serve the cause of homelessness inspired me to initiate my Homes for Home program.

As a former fund raiser for Vancouver’s Covenant House, I take pride in dedicating a percentage of revenues to support their mission of providing secure housing for homeless youth. For more information about my Homes for Home program click here.

MY JOURNEY TO DESIGN

Surrounded by Art Deco architecture in Mumbai, my eye for design began early in life. Despite attending business school for an MBA, my passion for modern design remained.  A career that began as a New York based marketer it followed by coordinating design for new construction and development and later evolved into serving on the Board of Directors of The Miami Design Preservation League - the world’s first Art Deco society. Leading Art Deco walking tours for many years to raise preservation awareness of the Art Deco District in Miami Beach, it led to authoring my award winning book Bombay Art Deco Architecture - the first book dedicated to revealing Mumbai’s incredible and formerly hidden Art Deco culture.

I soon became a founding member of the Florida Chapter of The Congress for New Urbanism based on my adoration of New Urban living styles.  These styles are exemplified in neighbourhoods such CityPlace in West Palm Beach, Florida or smart growth developments such as Olympic Village in Vancouver BC. The involvement led me to provide the foundation for The Guidebook to New Urbanism in Florida 2005.  It previews 100 Master Planned developments across Florida based upon the principles of New Urban Planning. More about these development projects can be found in the online database compiled from this Guidebook by visiting the CNU Florida website here.

My Design experience in Vancouver began at EQ3 in Toronto and later in Vancouver - Canada’s leading Modern Minimalist Design House with 15 showrooms across Canada and USA.  Today, I help new property owners in Vancouver design and furnish their new homes.  A space that can serve as their unique sanctuary or suitably designed for corporate leasing and investment income.

What is done in love is done well
